About me

Before founding Eagan Educational Consulting in 2023, I served for five years as a college counselor at two of the nation’s leading independent schools. Most recently I was Associate Director of College and Academic Advising at the Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale. Students I counseled there went on to attend Princeton, M.I.T., Dartmouth, Cornell, Duke, Vanderbilt, Rice, UCLA, Michigan, UVA, Durham (U.K.), and many other highly selective colleges and universities.

I began my college counseling career at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, where I was also Director of Communications, a senior administrative role, for seven years, as well as an upper school advisor, class dean, and journalism instructor.

Before my career in independent schools, I worked in corporate, non-profit, and agency communications and marketing for 10 years, specializing in communications strategy, crisis management, and writing. My journalism work has appeared in the New York Times, Curbed, the Ritz-Carlton Magazine, WWNO (NPR affiliate), and other outlets.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in English from Yale University (2004) and a master’s from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism (2009). I am an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), and a graduate of the Stanley King Counseling Institute.

I am proud to serve on the Counselor Advisory Board of Southern Methodist University (SMU).
